For the DIY Afro Hair workshop I had Lurie Daniel Favors willing to try out the Going Natural products so that their use could be demonstrated during the workshop.
I first photographed Lurie in 2005 during the International African Arts Festival in Brooklyn, where she walked around with a beautiful big afro. Years later I saw her on Facebook and we have kept in touch ever since. Two days before the workshop started, she was given the following products:
