My son has frizzy hair

M. Liong

Hello! I came across your site in my search for what to do with the hair of our 1.5 year old African son. Here in Africa many people shave the hair of the boys, but we were wondering what the possibilities are to let his hair grow a bit longer. Hopefully you can help us further… Thanks in advance! Greetings, Anke

Hi Anke,

Thank you for visiting kroeshaar.com and asking your question.

The possibilities for boys are not really that different from those for girls. You can just let it grow so that it becomes an afro, when the hair is a bit longer you can start braiding. These can be loose braids or braids on the scalp that are also called cornrows or kwie kwie ba. Locen is also possible of course. It really depends on what your son wants.

It is very simple to make children's hair grow longer. Just do not cut the hair. Once the hair has reached a certain length, it is important that the hair is well cared for. Especially detangling is very important. Most children find this a disaster if it is not done properly. That is why it is highly recommended to at least use a good shampoo, such as the Going Natural Herbal Shampoo . The No More Knots detangler for combing out should definitely not be missing.

Good luck and have fun with your son!
