The trick is to find the things that appeal to you and that can express your own taste and personality. If you only want to freshen up your look with a few items, choose accessories.
Just went through your wardrobe, selected an outfit and then stood in front of the mirror. Why is something missing now? I have worn this before and it was okay then. A dilemma that bubbles up every now and then. We ladies know it all too well.
I discovered the accessories of the Amsterdam accessories and clothing designer Poema Jones. She is also a 'natural' herself, so that in itself provides the first link. As an accessories designer, she is self-taught and has a unique, contemporary vision. What I like is that she started designing from a personal need.
Due to the lack of certain types of accessories that emphasized her personality and matched what she wanted to express, she decided to make them herself. From earrings to rings to bags. The inspirations for the creations often come from reggae (music), West Africa (clothing) and Ethiopia. Contrasting/bright colors and geometric shapes provide daring items that are characteristic of the accessory line. The creations are mainly aimed at active and independent women, who have no trouble showing themselves. Additional details are that the accessories are handmade and hand-painted. Every now and then you will also find recyclables, especially some rings.
Whether your clothing style is romantic, vintage, sporty or eclectic, “outspoken” accessories are the extra you can use to re-style an outfit. This season it is color and more color that is the fashion clock. Choose one popping shade or a flashy multi-color ensemble.
