Caring for false braids, box and crochet braids

M. Liong

A look around you will make you realize that braids with extensions are almost indispensable. Almost every woman with frizzy hair wears them at some point because they are so easy to care for. However, you should still take care of your own hair when wearing artificial braids. But how do you do that?

Kroeshaar Kapsel: Kinky Twists False braids are a real godsend. Yes, it takes quite some time to braid the hair but once the extensions are in you are set for a long time. Braided hair is get-up-and-go hair. You don't have to worry about how your hair looks for at least two months. Artificial braids always look good.

Extensions are therefore also perfect for holidays, to just temporarily let your own hair recover and they are an unparalleled outcome after a hair experiment gone wrong. You hardly have to worry about artificial braids while your own hair recovers nicely.

However, “easy to care for” doesn’t mean “no care at all.” It may seem subtle, but it makes a world of difference to your curls.

One of the most common mistakes is using conditioners and deep conditioners. Although conditioners are essential for frizzy hair, you should really avoid them when you have braided your hair.

Conditioners leave behind residue that builds up between your own hair and the extension. Those who wear artificial braids more often are certainly familiar with the piece of matted hair with dust residue in it that you encounter when it is time to remove the extensions. This residue shows what kind of products you have used. A build-up of dust residue is almost inevitable, but by using conditioners and all kinds of other bad fats you only make it worse. If it gets too bad, the braided hair together with the accumulated residue can suffocate your own hair. That is why it is important to also care for artificial braids with the right products.

Oils and hair spritzes
To properly care for your own hair while wearing extensions, it is best to use natural oils and hair spritzes.

A good hair oil not only nourishes your hair but also ensures that the extensions do not get stuck to your hair strands. This keeps the braid and therefore your own hair nice and supple and wonderfully flexible.

It is best to apply a hair oil after washing when the hair is still damp. Apply the hair oil especially to the root of the braid and then massage with

t your fingertips to the scalp so that the oil is absorbed through the fake braid into your own hair.

If you have the Scalp Conditioning Oil from the Kroeshaar WebShop When used, you will notice that your dry scalp immediately disappears and your head feels fresh and tingling.

Hair Spritz
Hair spritzes are also great for braided hair. Spritzes are mostly herbal extracts that you can spray on your hair and scalp without leaving any residue. You can spritz as often as you like but especially when your braids or scalp feel dry.

Tip: Do you suffer from itchy scalp? Does it feel dry? Try the Scalp Conditioning Spray from the webshop. Spray this into the hair in the evening, then tie the Magic Scarf before going to bed. If it is good, you will not have any more itching the next day.

A slice of cucumber often also brings relief, but the spray is easier and can be used at any time.
