Help! My hair is a disaster

Hi, I am a 17 year old girl. And I am really at my wits end with my frizzy hair. The first time I relaxed it but I lost a lot of hair while combing it and it had become way too thin. I relaxed it again because I didn't know what else to do. Then I let it grow and cut the relax out!

Mijn haar is een ramp Then I did braids but that's not my thing either and extensions certainly not! the last time I put some kind of chemical product on my hair that made curls. But that's not for me either you have to wash this every time you want the curls the product burns!

I really want a haircut that is easy to maintain and doesn't take too much work in the morning. Please help me. I am really HOPELESS

Hi Marleen,

Thank you for your question and the photo.

Your hair doesn't look short at all, but it does look very dry. That's probably because of the use of the ceramic straightener and winter weather, just like you think. Especially long-term and frequent use of these heat appliances are a disaster for hair in general and especially for frizzy hair. It draws moisture from the hair, making the strands brittle and the hair easily breaking. If the setting is too hot or if these irons are used on wet hair, they can even destroy the hair irreparably. Hopefully this is not the case with you.

Winter weather is also not good for hair. In winter we are exposed to cold but also to dry air indoors. This also works drying on hair. But also shampoos with sls work drying as well as hair fats with Petroleum and Petrolatum.

Of course I think you should leave the ceramic tongs aside for now. Also you will have to work on healthy hair first. Once the hair is healthy it will grow by itself. In your case if you prevent your hair from drying out and not breaking it will grow longer by itself.

So make sure your hair never feels dry and avoid aggressive shampoos with sls as well as hair fats that leave residues. I would recommend starting with the Clean Start . It is an intensive treatment that gives dry hair a nice boost. In addition, I would recommend the Silky Shea Hair Butter to keep the hair permanently supple.

I assume your hair is not irreparably dried out by the tongs and the winter weather because you write that you go to the hairdresser regularly. It is good to cut off dead ends and hair that is irreparably destroyed.

My tips:

– Don’t worry about the length of your hair for a moment. You are young and healthy, your hair will grow once it is healthy.
– Take optimal care of your hair with as many natural products as possible and keep it supple at all times.
– I would also not wear my hair down for the time being so that you manipulate the hair as little as possible. Look in the Kroeshaar Gallery for possible hairstyles. Most of the cornrows can be worn for two to three weeks. That seems pretty easy to me.

Of course you can also cut your hair short and just easily twist it with the Loc Glove once a week. The choice is yours.

Good luck and thanks again for your photo. You have a nice face, I'm sure it will be fine.

Odi,
Mireille
