You must have heard the stories about how terribly cold it is in New York. I have lived here for over 10 years, experienced storm Sandy but this is the first time I hear New Yorkers complaining about the cold. And then it must be bad right?

Luckily I spend most of my time indoors. My workplace is nice and warm but my house is also nice and cozy. I don't have much to complain about. If I have to go outside I bundle up and think, okay, get some fresh air. Well, you really have to be careful with temperatures like -10 because your face will freeze if you don't watch out.
The snow is not too bad, I have experienced much worse. That we actually had to shovel the car out of the snow, so many meters had fallen. As you can see on the pictures now, it is only a few cm. Nothing compared to a few years ago, see my bog Snowed In! and here you can see the Difference between summer and winter .
It is colder. You can't tell from the pictures except from my face and the way I'm wrapped up. If you dress warmly enough it's doable. Then you can also take nice pictures because a changing environment remains fascinating. These were taken with my phone. Hopefully you like them and have an idea of what it's like to be here.

At least the sun is shining…

This one has nothing to do with the cold but I couldn't resist. They're so close.

Ok, you can fill this in yourself:
