Since 2002
To combat the alarming percentage of hair loss in Black women, Dr. Mireille Liong launched Kroeshaar.com in 2002. With the goal of promoting the beauty, versatility, and care of African hair, the activist focused not only on symptoms but also on the root cause: a world where wearing afro-textured hairstyles was not recognized as a human right.

Equal Hair Rights
In New York, Liong created 'BAD Hair Uprooted, the Untold History of Black Follicles' – an international exhibition raising awareness about hair inequality.
She is currently traveling through Africa as an Ecommerce Digital Nomad while working on the eponymous documentary about the psychological, physical and financial impact of unequal hair rights.

Proud of
As a pioneering activist who has been campaigning for equal hair rights for decades, Drs. Mireille Liong has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the City of New York, a Sankofa award and the MDB Global Outreach award from the UN.
