Following a few negative reactions to the upcoming Miss Kroeshaar election, I feel I should explain why I am organizing this event and why I support it 100%.
To begin with, Miss Kroeshaar is an election to choose Suriname's Next Natural Model with the aim of raising awareness for the issues of the Creole woman in today's society.
As many as 73% of Creole women suffer from hair breakage and hair loss. This is due to poor care habits that result from the fact that frizzy hair styles such as dreadlocks and Afros, which are very natural for this hair type, but are not accepted in the workplace or in schools.
With the Miss Kroeshaar election we hope to highlight these issues in a positive and inspiring way and to raise awareness because as long as our hairstyles are not generally accepted, we will continue to struggle with the health of our hair and that is what matters.
No matter how you look at it, black people are the only people in the world who do not have the right to wear their god-given hair in a natural way. Hence the Miss Kroeshaar election.
I sincerely hope that all of Suriname will support this event and come to the Feng Shui Garden on Commissaris Weijtingweg 154 on November 25. It is from 4 to 7 o'clock. No matter what type of hair you have, we need your support and hope to inspire you with insanely beautiful hairstyles and a fun show.
A preview will be shown in the very first broadcast of Top 40 TV in which five candidates will reveal a little bit,
