Dear members. The frizzy hair season seems to have started in earnest. All over America frizzy hair gatherings are being organized, too many to mention, let alone visit.

Last weekend I was invited to the “One World, Many Naturals” event because going-natural.com was nominated for an award. That was the reason to wear my hat. Not really for Prinsjesdag. And for those who always ask, my hair underneath and on the sides is nice and loose in a twistout, of course done with the Twist Out Hair Milk.

Kroeshaar What an incredibly fun event that was. The beautiful hairstyles were wonderfully inspiring, but the people were also just nice. For me it was absolutely enjoyable and the best thing was meeting bloggers and vloggers in real life.

You may have heard of Franchesca Leigh Ramsey, but she is a vlogger I interviewed in 2010 and now she has her own TV show! She is a great person; open, funny, talented and truly a sight to behold. Click on the following link to view the pictures: One world many naturals.

With these developments I am of course completely in my element and even a little extra because kroeshaar.com will be 10 years old next month! I don't know if you know, but I started the site because I was curious about how many people would be interested in my first book: Kroeshaar, Wat je moet weten en meer. Kroeshaar was still taboo at the time I think and I had no idea how my book would be received.

I can remember an angry and of course anonymous email from someone who thought I was being terribly negative and another response from someone who asked why I didn't write about straightened hair. Hopefully these people now understand that I am not being negative at all and why.

You only have to look around you to see that a lot has changed in the past decade. Afro hair is alive! More than ever.

I am very grateful that I was able to contribute to this development. At the same time, I realize that I owe a lot to you, readers and visitors. That is why we are of course going to celebrate together. Until October 18, I will give away a package every week completely free of charge.

The first package goes to the person who leaves the best comment in the album of my first book presentation. Who remembers, who was there? Click on the following link to refresh your memory or just to give you an idea of what it was like. Don't forget to leave a comment for the prize package. Here is the link: Publication: Kroeshaar; what you need to know and more.

Since I am busy organizing my photos, my Brooklyn album is online. Click here to get an impression of Bedstuy .

Last but not least I received an email from someone who actually describes my hair as it was when I was still relaxing: stiff and I couldn't do anything with it. Click here for the advice: My hair is ugly stiff

Don't forget to check the webshop these days on to 10 years of kroeshaar.com!
