Amsterdam – In the context of Keti Koti and the celebration of Black hair & identity, the long-awaited Dutch premiere of the documentary BAD Hair Uprooted: The Untold History of Kinky Hair will take place on Saturday, June 29 at 2:00 PM – a documentary in the making that sheds an essential light on the hidden impact of hair politics, identity, and self-love within the Black community.
Directed and produced by Drs. Mireille Liong, an internationally acclaimed photographer, IT specialist, and natural hair activist, who has been fighting for equal hair rights with her camera for over 20 years. After screenings and praise in New York, among other places, the documentary is now being shown in – Amsterdam Zuidoost.
