To be honest, it almost passed me by. The 12 months have gone by so quickly and without any problems that I hardly thought about it. Here’s what I’ve learned about braidlocs and hair care:

The First Week – Month Two
Wash your hair
Even if you have locs it is advisable to wash your hair regularly with shampoo. You certainly do not have to wash every day and maybe not even every week depending on your lifestyle but once every two weeks is definitely recommended.
Personally, I wash once a week with the Going Natural Herbal Shampoo. In addition, I condition every two weeks with the Detox Deep Conditioner.

Month 4 and month 6
Take the locos apart!
It is really important that you prevent the locs from growing together. You do this by regularly taking the locs apart after each wash. Not the entire loc of course but along the partings. Make sure that the partings are free of hairs that will grow together with another loc. If you do not do this, the next session at the loctition will literally be painfully annoying.
Our hair naturally tends to bunch up, which is great otherwise our hair wouldn’t be able to loc as nicely, but the downside is that the locs also tend to grow together. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to separate the hair. So do this regularly.

Month 7 a month 9
Sleep with a headscarf
Whether your locs are short or long, sleeping with a headscarf not only keeps dust out of our hair, it also keeps the locs in shape. Especially if the hair is short and tends to stick out in all directions, it is important on the other hand, you can of course come up with a surprisingly unusual hairstyle. It just depends on what you want.
12 months of Braidlocs!
Braids or a bun
When your hair starts to grow and is about mid-length, it is advisable to put your locs in a bun or braid them at night before going to bed. This will help keep the partings nice and prevent the locs from growing out to some extent.
Use a scalp spray
Whether your hair is short, medium or long, use a spray to prevent your scalp and locs from drying out. The Going Natural Scalp Conditioning Spray , enriched with stimulating herbs and MSM, is the perfect combination for scalp care. This spray is so popular because its ingredients prevent chronic dryness and hair loss.
