What you need most of all is time and patience. I honestly had to sit down for a while, but the result was worth it.
What you also need is clean, washed hair. Of course I am biased when I say this, but so far I have not found a better shampoo than the Going Natural Herbal Shampoo. My locs become squeaky clean, without drying them out. That is why I highly recommend the shampoo. Of course you also need to condition afterwards. For that you can choose between the Going Natural Deep conditioner and the Going Natural Detox conditioner.
Here I reveal the big secret to save you hours of drying time: After washing your hair, simply let it dry without any products in it before you start straightening. It really saves hours of time. Of course, comb your hair in the shower to rinse out the conditioner well and then twist each washed section. Then, when you get out of the shower, put a bath towel over your hair to absorb the excess water, walk around like that for half an hour, then your hair is dry and you can start.
What is absolutely indispensable is the Silky Shea Hair Butter. With this product you can not only easily wear a twistout, you can even choose what type of curls you want to wear and believe me your hair will stay in place until the next wash. Of course I advise you not to just accept this, but to try it yourself. Hopefully the following instructions will help. What you also need are Flex Rods.

Pipe curls
In principle it doesn't matter how long or short your hair is. With five cm your hair is long enough to be able to turn around these small flex rods.
A roller set works best on freshly washed clean hair, but the big secret is that your hair doesn’t have to be soaking wet with the hair butter. Your hair can be damp, but it certainly doesn’t have to be soaked. It’s ideal if your hair is just barely dry. This means you don’t have to sit under a hairdryer for hours or walk around with rollers until your hair is dry. For someone as impatient as I am, this is a huge advantage.
It is best to first divide your hair into a few manageable sections. This makes the process easier. Depending on how big or small the sections are, you can use 2 to 5 rollers per section. The smaller you divide the hair, the fuller the hairstyle and the longer it will stay in place.
-
Take at least an amount of hair comparable to the thickness of a normal pencil.
-
Add the Silky Shea Hair Butter and brush through the hair to distribute it evenly from start to finish.
-
Start at the end of your hair to twist the twist rod. Make sure the end point is completely wrapped around it. This is important for the finish.
-
Roll the rest of the hair around the roller and then bend the ends towards each other to hold it in place.
-
Repeat this for all sections of hair.
-
When your hair is completely dry, remove the flex rods and use your fingers to shape your hair.
