Claudine, I think it's really great that you tried it out and of course I think it's totally awesome that you emailed pictures too.
The Kumba out does indeed create firm curls. The advantage is that they stay in place for a long time, but the disadvantage is that your hair looks shorter because it is so curly. In itself, it does not matter how frizzy or curly your own hair is. In the video, my hair also looks shorter than it is. The beauty of this hairstyle is that it really brings out everyone's own curl pattern.
