Programma 2011

Program 2011

M. Liong

The program of the upcoming Sabi Wiri Weekend looks very exciting. Besides a hair documentary that we will discuss with a panel, there will also be an Obama documentary, as well as Q&A hours with hairdressers, a frizzy hair workshop and of course a hair show in which an American hairdresser will also participate.

Raoul & Anoeska Hair Show

Workshops and Q&A sessions
The Kroeshaar weekend will be opened by Franklin Esajas of SME Omroep and Mireille Liong of kroeshaar.com. More than an opening speech, it will be more of a dialogue with the audience. You will have the opportunity to ask your questions directly to us, the organizers.

Headwraps
Next on the agenda is, Tying headscarves. If you have always wanted to know how some women manage to make such beautiful headscarves, then you should not miss this workshop. After a few basic tips and tricks, you will be able to do it too.

Curly Hair Workshops
This year too, Levi, the most famous curly hair guru in the Netherlands, will be present to give a workshop.

There is also the DIY frizzy hair workshop by Mireille Liong in which you learn how to best care for your hair. Since this workshop includes products, you must register in advance.

Movies
This year, in addition to workshops, there are also a number of interesting films on the program. We will show a documentary by Obama called “We the people” about the first black president of America. Very interesting. In addition, The great Debaters can also be seen, a film by Denzel Washington, he directs and acts.

The frizzy hair show
Just like last year, Raoul and Anoeska will give a crazy hair show in which you can see what is possible with frizzy hair. This time you will even get the chance to ask these hair artists questions. They will have a question time in which they will also demonstrate a few things.

Anoeska, originally from the interior of Suriname, has braids naturally in her fingers. Raoul is a self-trained loc specialist who can create fantastic hairstyles in addition to growing hands.

The demonstration/question hour on Saturday starts at 4pm. The frizzy hair show starts at 4pm. Be on time because the number of places is limited.

Sunday September 18th
Day 2 of the frizzy hair weekend is no less exciting. In addition to the DIY frizzy hair workshop, the documentary “Beautiful” directed by hairdresser Tami is on the program. The film discusses 3 different visions of frizzy hair. Very interesting to watch and especially to discuss.

That's why we invited a panel of men and women to discuss how afro hair is perceived today.

Then it is time for the Miss Kroeshaar election. A number of participants have already registered, but there is still room for more. Register and participate! Who knows, you might be the next Miss Kroeshaar.

To cover the costs of the hall and other expenses, we are forced to charge an entrance fee of 10 euros.
