When my brother called to say that I might expect a phone call from a certain Gianinni, I didn't really know what to think. After a Google search, I not only found out that he was a very good dancer, but that he was also incredibly popular in the Netherlands. As a dance fanatic, I immediately added one of his dance solos to my Facebook page. It was a beautiful solo and that's how I would remember him if he called. And indeed he did call.
A bubbling bundle of energy
When my brother called to say that I might expect a phone call from a certain Gianinni, I didn't really know what to think. After a Google search, I not only found out that he was a very good dancer, but that he was also incredibly popular in the Netherlands. As a dance fanatic, I immediately added one of his dance solos to my Facebook page. It was a beautiful solo and that's how I would remember him if he called. And indeed he did call.
He told me who he was, a bit questioningly, but the conversation didn't stop for a second. I was very curious about his aspirations and he told me full of enthusiasm that the sky was the limit for him. He wanted to continue his career in America! I could hear his drive over the phone. Even his passion was palpable. We met at a Star Bucks near Time Square. It was a great meeting with a bubbling bundle of positive, inspiring energy.
With his beautiful curls and a trained dance body you won't pass Gianinni by that quickly. He is not tall but Fruit machines he has an unmistakable charisma and when he laughs, and he loves to laugh, the whole world laughs with him.
He talks about dancing with intense passion. What he did to finish the dance academy in Amsterdam is admirable. Where many of us give up a dream because it takes too much time/energy/effort to make it come true, Gianinni keeps going. This is what makes him remarkably special.
Aware of his god-given talent, it is as if he realizes that it takes more than talent to make it. He takes nothing for granted, trains for hours and gives everything as a performer. Gianinni is a dancer in heart and soul.
He enjoyed taking pictures in Times Square, enthusiastically doing the splits and other dance moves so they could be captured.
Besides dancing, Gianinni also talks about his mother who supported him from the beginning and now manages his affairs. She is truly his hero. Gianinni can also talk heartwarmingly about his brothers. The close family bond seems to be an important stable basis in his hectic life.
Gianinni's goal is clear. He wants to perform at the highest possible level. Although he respects dance companies like Alvin Ailey, he prefers to do live tours and videos with pop artists. I think it suits his personality better.
He thinks New York is a great city, but LA has more to offer for dancers says Gianinni. He happened to be there when Michael Jackson passed away and was even live at the Memorial. See the video:
