My name is Dorothy Blokland, I am from Suriname and now live in the Netherlands. I have always had very thick hair. My mother went crazy about it, so at the age of twelve I had a relaxer. It was beautiful during my teenage years, but after 8 years of relaxing my hair started to fall out. I cut it off and started fighting, when my hair became strong and longer again I started styling it with a straightener, but since May of this year I noticed that my hair also started to fall out, I have weaved once, but my hair is too thick for that. Since May of that year I have started braiding again, and as of today I have decided to wear my hair completely natural as an afro. I find it so much nicer to look at, and have already discovered a lot of products on this site that I can use.
