The ongoing elections for the Republican presidential candidate do not paint a promising picture of what is to come. Given that it is a battle between people within the same party, one would think that certain boundaries would be observed to avoid playing into the hands of the opposing party, the Democrats. So, completely wrong thought.

The ongoing elections for the Republican presidential candidate do not paint a promising picture of what is to come. Given that it is a battle between people within the same party, one would think that certain boundaries would be observed to avoid playing into the hands of the opposing party, the Democrats. So, completely wrong thought.

I don't think I have ever witnessed such an intensely out-of-control election campaign up close. The battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama four years ago was very fierce and not always fair, but this from the Republicans really takes the cake. They spare no expense or effort to attack each other with advertising campaigns that only spew dirt about the other candidate. Structural solutions that are supposedly going to save the country from the "worst" President America has ever known are barely offered.

I was asked if Ron Paul was truly a racist after he was branded as such when newsletters from more than 20 years ago surfaced in which he, among other things, compared African Americans to animals in the zoo and other anti-Semitic and racist statements were read. Ron Paul has repeatedly denied being behind this. According to him, the newsletters intended for sending medical articles were simply misused. Besides his medical contributions, he did not know what else was in them.

Despite his weak argument, I must say that when I look at the person Ron Paul, from four years ago until now, I personally do not have the impression that he is a racist. Ron seems to me a profound idealist with whom I do not always agree, but a racist, I really do not think so. If you were to ask me about Newt Gingrinch, I would wholeheartedly shout yes, absolutely!

Even before the real race for the White House began, he consistently calls President Obama the "Food stamp President." With this, he implies that the President supposedly favors African Americans. Firstly, according to the USDA, U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition, President George W. Bush helped the most Americans with food stamps, and moreover, almost one and a half times more white people receive these food vouchers.

Newt, who is now again rising according to the latest polls, is not only a racist, he is also a hypocrite who truly stops at nothing. Newt Gingrich was at the forefront of the Clinton impeachment regarding the Monica Lewinsky affair. While he seized every opportunity to harp on Clinton's unethical standards that would lead to America's demise, he himself had an affair during a period when his wife suffered from multiple sclerosis. Newt, who divorced his first wife while she was suffering from cancer, insists that ethical standards have always been of high importance to him.

You could say that a candidate's private life doesn't matter. What a person does in their own time is their business, but what does matter is the person's character. If you boast loudly that moral values are of ultimate importance while you yourself disregard them, you are a hypocrite and unreliable.

I could write pages about everything that is going on, but I would advise you to follow it a bit yourself. It is a true spectacle. What made my day today is the President. He was in New York today, for a fundraiser at Apollo with Spike Lee and other celebrities that raised one and a half million. President Obama was clearly in his element. He even sang a bit of Al Green and absolutely everyone went wild. This short video clip has already been viewed over a million times and is still making its way around the world. I have seen it 100 times and every time I have to smile again. The First Lady might laugh at his dance moves, but the President can certainly sing.
