Jayme, America's Next Natural Model 2013, filmed a photo shoot and commercial for Going-Natural.com, Sula NYC and Gruvi. You have to see it. Of course, she did her hair with Going Natural hair products at the best hair salon in Brooklyn. A video will be coming out soon. For now, you can watch the “behind the scenes” video of Jayme's photo shoot and commercial .

A lot has happened since my first hair show. It's going too fast to blog about, but here's a quick overview:

Lurie Daniel Favors, the woman who is one of the highlights of my exhibition with her dense afro, has written a book. The photo has stirred up so much that she has written about it. I had the privilege of reading the script before it was even finished and even for me as a seasoned nappy head it has stirred up an incredible amount. No, it is not about hair care or hairstyles but it goes much deeper than that. An absolute must. You can view and order the book via Afro State of Mind .
But that's not all. Lurie, who has hair type 4c, is crazy about Going Natural hair products and is happy to demonstrate how to make a beautiful twist out with this hair type. Click here for instructions for a Twist Out for Hair Type 4C .
I also went to Sranan Dei in Queens. It was less busy than last year but I met some nice Srananmans again. One of them was Rachel van der Kooye. Ten years ago I got an email that she was literally at her wits' end. Thanks to kroeshaar.com she has had beautiful long dreadlocks for 10 years now and of course she has no regrets about her decision. That was of course nice to hear and especially to see. See the photos of Sranan Dei 2013 here.
The questions section is also updated. For those who email questions, sorry that it sometimes takes so long to answer them, but you will definitely get your turn. It is just very busy with the reorganization and organization behind the scenes. In addition, I have to enjoy the summer in New York just like you to get inspiration for the coming season. Stay tuned!
Question of the week: Help, what do you do about dry, frizzy curls?
