I am used to Dax, the Shea butter I have doesn't really work, which products should I use now?

Pure Shea Butter from Africa – Silky Shea Hair Butter
Hi Mireille,
I have a question about products that contain petrolatum and mineral oil. What do you think about these products are they really that bad for your hair.
I have been trying for months now to find a (natural) product that is good for my hair but nothing works. I have tried shea butter and also my own shea butter mixture with castor oil and coconut oil. But this does not really work well for my hair. I have to say that I now doubt whether it is real pure shea butter. On the jar it is in, the ingredients only say shea butter, but the shea butter is so beautifully streamlined and neat. I have heard that it is not supposed to look like that. I bought it at the Kruiskade at my gorgeous.
But now I am hopeless and I want to use my old hair product again (DAX Pomade green). But I also do not want to use something that can damage my hair. When I used DAX I actually had no problems, I have heard that these types of products make your hair look good but that it is actually very bad for your hair and it clogs your pores, is this true?
Furthermore I have seen your hair butter and milk in the webshop but I doubt if it will work for my hair and especially the hair milk. I have dry hair and hair type 4B/C and I do need a product that is "heavier". I don't know how to explain it but I am afraid that your hair butter is too "light" a product for my hair??? (hope you understand what I mean).
In the attachment you will find a picture of me and my hair, I think I have hair type 4b/c, would you please NOT put this on the website, it is only for your eyes:)
I hope to hear from you soon as I am desperate.
Greetings,
Yes

Hi Jes,
Thank you for visiting kroeshaar.com, your nice photo and the question.
First of all I think it is very good to look for more natural products. This applies to all cosmetics and even food, but that is besides the point.
I understand you very well because I myself had to search for the right products for a very long time. I also understand that it is not easy to replace products that you are actually quite satisfied with. Personally, I have never used it, but coincidentally I know this green badger because my sister, who relaxes her hair, has used it for years. Apparently the product does work, but Petroleum and petrolatum are on the list of ingredients to avoid. In fact, now even on the list of the European Union's Dangerous Substances Directive (UNECE 2004) as a possible human carcinogen (see link).
More important to know is the brand of the Shea butter. Pure Shea butter from Africa is grayish white and especially in the beginning the natural scent takes a lot of getting used to. It smells like cigarettes when you spread it on but the scent evaporates after a few seconds. Too bad you didn't also email a picture of that.
You write that the Shea Butter and the mix actually don't work for you. You don't explain why not but if I understand you correctly it is because your hair keeps feeling dry.
Since you are used to Dax I think that the petroleum may have done its job and placed a layer around your hair that makes it feel so dry. Usually the same layer also ensures that no other products can be absorbed.
There are a number of solutions for this. What I personally highly recommend is the following:
Do a Detox Treatment . This will really remove any leftover product residue while nourishing your hair strands with natural minerals. Your hair and scalp will feel reborn.
If you prefer to use hair grease, the Silky Shea hair butter is a very good alternative. You really don't have to worry that it won't be greasy enough. Certainly not after you've done the treatment. Your hair will absorb it with ease.
If you also want a natural shampoo to wash weekly, choose one of the herbal shampoos from the webshop. I like them both equally.
Now I hope you follow the advice and that your hair really perks up with the products. Will you keep us posted?
