Kroeshaar in de knoop

What can I do about dry hair that keeps getting tangled?

M. Liong

Hi Mireille, I have already emailed you before and asked for advice. In the meantime I have used several products of yours such as the herbal shampoo, curling cream etc. My hair has grown enormously and I am also satisfied with all the products I have used so far. I always try to vary a little.

Kroeshaar in de klit Unfortunately, my hair is constantly getting tangled now. I also don't wear it down anymore because I try to get all the knots out. My hair is constantly breaking off, so now it's easier for me to put it in a ponytail so I don't mess with it anymore.

I think the deterioration of my hair also has to do with my 10 weeks stay in Africa. At that time I could not easily take care of it because of electricity and not always having water etc.

My products are almost finished, I am thinking of ordering silky shea butter and the detox conditioner. About the latter I have a few questions, namely; does this make your hair smell nice? do you have the idea that your hair is nice and clean after using this product?

A short description about my hair: I am half Dutch, half Dominican. My hair now reaches over my shoulders and I have very small curls, which means that when it is dry it hangs above my shoulders. My hair dries quickly and now constantly breaks off. When I pull my hair I already have a lock in my hand. I also regularly suffer from dandruff.

Do you think the chosen products are a good choice? Would you recommend these products to me?
I hope I've given a clear description of my hair.

Greetings,
Dominique

ps I'm still looking for a good hair salon in the Amsterdam area. Do you happen to know one?

Hi Dominique,

I definitely remember you and I'm glad the products are helping your hair grow nicely.

Going Natural clean start Combo It's annoying that your hair gets tangled and breaks as a result. Sounds crazy but it seems like a good sign. When I went frizzy I had exactly the same thing. I didn't understand it. I had just discovered Shea butter and was using the right products, but my hair was tangling like crazy. Then I found out that I hadn't cut my hair for 2 years, since I stopped relaxing. My hairdresser at the time was a Rasta and against cutting hair. That means that the damaged ends were still there and of course they caused the tangles! So I just took the scissors to it myself. So I think you're due for a trim. Luckily I also wrote an article about it: Cutting Frizzy Hair

If not, you need to look at other causes. What part of Africa were you in? In a dry environment, frizzy hair does indeed dry out more easily, so if you were in a dry environment and you couldn't take care of your hair properly, it could definitely have played a role.

Now about the recovery. The Detox Conditioner and the Silky Shea Hair Butter are definitely a good choice. There is no better product to keep dry curls supple than the hair butter.

The Detox will deeply cleanse hair and scalp while nourishing it with natural minerals. The Silky shea will keep hair supple.

I don't know what kind of hairdresser you're looking for and what for. For example, if you want to cut ends, you can basically go to any black barber. These hairdressers have the most experience with frizzy hair these days. Most women's salons are mainly used to relaxers. I also understand that Moroccan hairdressers are also very good at dealing with curls, but unfortunately I can't point one out personally. Of course, there is the Frizzy Hair Hair Salon Guide that you can search in.

Good luck and keep us posted if you like.
