Hi Mireille, First of all I want to say that you do a fantastic job. Years ago I even bought a little book from you about the care of frizzy hair which I found very useful. I am emailing you about a problem. I am of Moroccan descent and have frizzy/curly long hair.
I am of Moroccan descent and have frizzy/curly long hair. My hair (most of it) has been so tangled for a long time that I can't comb it out and it's getting worse. I find it very embarrassing and don't know what to do.
Do you know anything or anyone who can help me?
Greetings,
Fatima from Amsterdam

Hi Fatima,
Thank you for the nice compliment and of course your question.
Hair that gets so hopelessly tangled is usually damaged. Do you have dead ends? You can feel that. The ends do not feel smooth but uneven and sometimes a bit coarse. The ends are the oldest part of the hair. They have to endure the most, which is why they can be damaged. Using a curling iron or hairdryer speeds up this process, but also just extreme cold outside air or extreme heat from the sun.
The only thing you can do to prevent your hair from getting so terribly tangled is to cut your hair. You don't have to cut it short, just cut off the damaged end. The hair will suddenly be easier to handle and definitely won't get tangled anymore.
In damaged hair, the scales that are normally layered like beautiful roof tiles are open, as you can see in the photo. A damaged hair layer tangles very easily with other hair strands because they are statically charged.
What can provide temporary relief is the Detox Conditioner because it will not only temporarily restore the damaged hair layer, the conditioner is also full of minerals that will nourish the hair and make it supple so that the hair becomes combable again. In addition, the No More Knots will also ease the combing of your hair.
Personally I don't know any hairdressers who can cut frizzy and curly hair in the Netherlands but I have heard that Moroccan hairdressers are very good with curly hair. So I would ask around. Good luck and keep me informed.
