Hair loss due to stress and menopause

M. Liong

I have been in menopause since I was 38 and am now 42 years old. My hair has fallen out quite a bit over the years. Sometimes it stops and then it starts again. I also think that stress helps a bit. I am sending a photo of before, before it started falling out again. (see photo before).

hair loss I had my hair S-curled in December 2012 (not a good idea I see now) and my hair was cut short to give it the opportunity to grow again. That happened (see photo growth), but now it is starting to fall out again and I also see bald spots at the front (see photo bald spot). My hair looks awful and very strange. The back is frizzy and about half to the front still has the relax. It doesn't seem to come out at the front. My scalp also itches very much and because of the itching it starts to burn. I got anti-fungal infection tablets from the GP and it seems to itch less.

I would like to have advice from you on how I could tackle my hair to firstly prevent it from falling out further and getting more bald spots and also to promote hair growth. I really want to go towards the overall frizzy hair and get rid of that relax. I now put on a wig every day when I leave the house.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Dear Zaragrace ,

Thank you for your question. I have to be honest that your situation seems a bit outside my area of expertise. Early menopause could indicate a hormonal problem resulting in hair loss, but for that analysis you really need to see a doctor.

In addition, you are right about stress. People underestimate this, but stress is one of the most important factors in hair loss. If you know this, it is important that, in addition to taking good care of your hair, you also keep your life as stress-free as possible.

going natural scalp conditioning spray Treatments like escurl are indeed not conducive to hair loss. The doctor gave you anti-fungal infection tablets, does that mean you have fungus on your scalp or was it prescribed to stop the itching?

Itchy scalp can also indicate an allergic reaction to ingredients of the products you use. I know a case of someone who didn't even want to use my shampoo. His routine was that he washed his hair with anti-dandruff every three days because according to him he really suffered from dandruff. Luckily he tried it anyway because after using my shampoo for a week he didn't feel the need anymore. To this day he has never suffered from that so-called horrible dandruff. It was just because of the wrong products.

So for you it depends on several factors. If you really have fungus on your scalp I think you should finish the course of the doctor. If it is the case that you are using the wrong products with ingredients that you are allergic to then I would advise you to try some products from the webshop.

The Going Natural Herbal Shampoo and the Detox Conditioner seem good to start with. If all goes well, you will notice a difference after the first wash. Since you have itching, I would also recommend the Scalp Conditioning Spray , which always relieves itching, as does the scalp oil with Ayurvedic Neem.

Depending on how your hair is now I would recommend the Silky Shea or the Hair cream as a moisturizer and also the No more knots. This detangler spray makes detangling easier and minimizes hair breakage.

I hope this advice helps you on your way. I look forward to hearing from you.
