Good morning Mireille, I am Karin Luijk, I live in the Netherlands and together with my husband we have 6 children of which the youngest 2 were adopted from China and Haiti. Our youngest daughter has... frizzy hair! She was almost 4 years old when we picked her up, now she is 9.5 years old. From the beginning I have tried to do what was good for frizzy hair. For advice I went to hair salon 'No Jokes' in Leiden.
The first few years I braided her hair myself (watched many videos on youtube and practiced on Barbie dolls :-)). Our daughter's wish is 'long hair'. Sometimes I blow-dry it long, but a rain shower and plop, all her hair is against her head again. 5 weeks ago she got 'extensions' for the first time, which she is very happy with. My 'problem' with that is that it is 'fake' hair, and it only lasts for 2.5 months at most. I have been following your messages via 'kroeshaar.com' for a few years now and I am getting more and more enthusiastic about your new hairstyle! This also seems so beautiful, handy and above all permanent hairstyle for my daughter!But now the question: where can I best have the braids put in, and of course maintain them? I understand that the real sisterlocks are unaffordable, so it should really start with the very small braids. Do you have any tips for us, we live near Leiden, but The Hague or possibly Amsterdam is also no problem for once every 2 or 3 months (isn't that the period that you have to have the dreads 'touched up'/locked again?
