Health Care and Hitler?

Mireille Liong

Of course, it is possible to disagree with President Obama or any other politician. You can disagree with a politician for a thousand and one different reasons. It does not even have to be because of what he or she stands for in terms of content. What is annoyingly annoying, however, is when you try to participate in a political discussion about policy while you yourself cannot really think and do not know why you do what you do.

After all, a certain amount of intellect is required to have a discussion. Even if the politician's suit is a thorn in your eye or you find his or her nose ugly, you have to be able to focus on the content without getting personal.

Not so with this lady who likes to participate in a debate about health care without knowing what she is talking about. With a picture of Obama made up with a Hitler mustache, she asks a Jewish homosexual politician why he supports President Obama's health care plan. Unfortunately for her, she had the wrong person in front of her.

Barney Frank is of above average intellect but just managed to sink to her level to answer her. First he answers her question with a reference to his ethnic background as a Jew and a counter question: on which planet do you mostly live?

Holding a picture of the president made up as Hitler, you compare the plan to expand government care to the Nazis. It is the price we pay for free speech (1st Amendment) that this despicably vile nonsense is possible.

When she finally presses to answer her question he says: Ma'am trying to have a conversation with you is like trying to have a conversation with a dining room table and I have no intention of doing that.

Bareny Frank is my man. With some people you can't argue unfortunately.
