Happy 2016

Looking Back at Afro Hair, Hairstyles, Events and More in 2015

Mireille Liong

A year can really fly by without you noticing. Especially when you feel like you are standing still. That is why I often compare life to the training of top athletes. Swimmers and runners, for example, train for years to improve their time by just a few milliseconds, but that does not mean that they are standing still. Without preparation, training, the hard work of trial and error, there is simply no progress.

Happy New Year!!!!

Now that I realize this, I look back with a happy, enjoyable look at the events and frizzy hair styles of 2015.

There were some important events I couldn't even blog about because I was just too busy:

A Super Naptural Hair Revolution – Atlanta, GA

In February I was in Atlanta filming the upcoming documentary A Super Natural Hair Revolution. Not only was I honored, it was an amazing experience which you can read more about in A Super Natural Hair Revolution.

BAD Hair Uprooted – Bedstuy Brooklyn

My exhibition in Bedstuy, Brooklyn, my “home away from home” was definitely one of the highlights of the past year for me. More about BAD Hair Uprooted Bedstuy .

BlackFollicles – Silicon Valley, CA

Silicon Valley is the cradle of investments when it comes to IT projects. There I was allowed to present my project as one of the carefully selected Blackfollicles.com to a panel of female investors. More about this will probably follow in the coming year.

Unfortunately not everyone was able to come to the events, but fortunately I was able to meet some of you in person. In Suriname, America and France.

What I will always be grateful for are your emails, photos, comments and “shares”, sharing articles, photos and videos. That continues to inspire endlessly.

Hereby “Grantangi” (many thanks) for a wonderful year. I hope you enjoy the review of 2015 and I am already looking forward to your reactions next year. A wonderful end and a happy and blessed 2016!
